Please keep in mind that some of the information captured in these fields may not be available to view if the data is not supplied to Health Plan of Nevada, Sierra Health & Life or Sierra Health-Care Options (HPN, SHL & SHO) by the plan administrators. However, these additional search options help in pinpointing the types of providers that most closely meet your needs. Descriptions of each characteristic are listed below.
Provider/Facility Name - This information is reported by the provider to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider.
Gender - This information is reported by the provider to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider.
Specialty - This field identifies the branch of medical science in which the provider practices. This information is reported by the provider to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider.
Hospital Affiliation - This field identifies the hospital locations where the provider has privileges to treat patients. The provider reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider. It is possible the practitioner may not notify HPN, SHL & SHO if their hospital affiliation(s) changes in between the 3 year period in which the information is re-validated.
Medical Group Affiliations - This field identifies the network medical practice groups with which this provider associates. The provider reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider. It is possible the practitioner may not notify HPN, SHL & SHO if their medical group affiliation(s) changes in between the 3 year period in which the information is re-validated.
Languages Spoken by the Provider - This field identifies languages other than English spoken by the provider. The provider reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider. It is possible this information may change in between the 3 year period in which the information is re-validated.
Address/Office Location - The provider reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider. It is possible this information may change in between the 3 year period in which the information is re-validated.
Acceptance of New Patients - This field identifies a primary care provider's willingness to accept new patients in their practice/office. The provider reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider. It is possible this information may change in between the 3 year period in which the information is re-validated.
Hospital Accreditation - This field identifies whether the facility has been evaluated to assess the quality of its systems and processes by an external accreditation organization. There are multiple accrediting organizations and requirements may vary depending on the accrediting organization. The facility reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the facility. It is possible this information may change in between the 3 year period in which the information is re-validated. Board Certification - This field indicates whether a provider is certified in their medical specialty field of medicine. A board certification granted by the American Board of Medical Specialties provides added assurance of a physician's expertise in a particular specialty and/or subspecialty of medicine. The provider reports this information to HPN, SHL & SHO. HPN, SHL & SHO updates this information at a minimum of every 3 years or upon receiving a change notification from the provider.
